My name is Melissa and I am so excited to help you gain the confidence to pick up the power tools yourself and start tackling DIY projects in your home!
Back in 2020, like most of us, I was stuck at home with little to keep my mind off of the never-ending news cycle. I have always loved designing and working on home projects, but with my days wide open and my husband working long hours from home, I realized that if I wanted to fill my time, I would need to learn how to take on these projects myself.
Welcome to Lake & Lumber!
I planned an elaborate board and batten project and started nailing boards to the wall while my husband was taking calls in the other room. 4 years later I have gutted a kitchen, laid 3000+ sq ft of flooring, renovated bathrooms, over-grouted two fireplaces, built 3 custom closets, and done more accent walls and board and batten projects than I can count. Now I want to help YOU start your DIY journey.
Here you will find DIY project instructions, power tool tutorials, and budget-friendly decor finds. I promise to share all of my mistakes and struggles along the way, and, just like on Instagram, I will always be here to answer your questions! We will tackle life together…one power tool at a time!
